The current in a DC (Direct Current) Circuit is constant. while the current in
an AC (alternating current) is changing directions. The waveform of AC is a sine a wave. The changing of directions results in a frequency of 50-60 Hertz.
AC is used to transmit power over long distances to houses and entities, while DC is efficent to power electronics.
